Here are a few examples of number stories that are an option on choice board #3. Students may write addition or subtraction stories. If they would like more of a challenge, attempt to write multiplication or division stories. Consider the missing piece of each story and mix it up!

Another valuable skill to review at this time would be students understanding of place value. This is a skill and understanding that will help them all the way through high school.

At this point in the year, students should have a solid understanding of time and money. They should be able to count a given amount of change and tell time to the nearest five minutes, consistently. If they feel confident about this, move on to telling time to the nearest minute. You can also try adding bills when counting money or challenging them to count change that is over $0.99 so that they have to trade. For extra practice, there are many resources online. See below for some of them.
